IDK if it's just my hormones but ep16 made me even more emotional today ಥ‿ಥ
isao shinomiya is a dadfailure (he said so himself) but we can't deny that his impact as the general is so huge and so freaking real......
to kurusu, as his childhood hero. (i love the flashback snippets and him staying by his hero's side 😭)
to narumi—my god 😭—knowing he's an orphan, isao is probably the closest thing he has to a real father (next is hasegawa) 🥹 when i read his b-side, i figured he's the spitting image of isao. and maybe he won't admit it because he's that kind of guy but i just know he treasures isao so much in his heart. and i know he's hurt hurt after learning what kn9 did to his commander. i honestly can't wait for his and kikoru's sibling-coded convo to be animated...
and of course, to our baby kikoru 😭 he may have failed as a father but he's still her papa 🥹 seriously, the added flashbacks made it more painful to me... it's also heartbreaking that the first time kikoru heard a "well done" from the general/her father is moments before he would be gone, like, can you give our little baby a break 🥲 isao trained her "mercilessly" in hikari's place, burying all his love for his daughter deep down, but i hope kikoru realizes that she is so loved by her papa 🥺 (if only there was more time... 😭😭)

SCREAMS this episode also reminded me why i dislike kn9 so much lol it's too powerful as a villain and tbh it just plays with our emotions as much as it plays with the defense force 🥲 (at the moment, ofc)
