Okay. Hear me out. Phil Dunster is a handsome, talented man. He’s honestly so lovely! Voice like an angel, conventionally attractive and charming, totally sweet and lovely. Not for me. Not my vibe.
Jamie Tartt, however, is entirely my vibe. He’s so baby girl. He’s incredibly talented and broken and self assured all at once. I am smitten by Jamie Tartt. He’s a total babe with a booty that just won’t quit and when he pushes his hair back, I simply cannot. I swoon. And I’m mostly into women! But the thesis of this little rant is thus:

This is completely random, and it’s just me combining my favorite shows but I feel like watching 911 and Ted Lasso together makes me want Buddie and Jamie Tartt to interact. Like I would love to see that.
If you don’t know what the game of AFL is, do yourself a favour and look it up. Whether you can understand it or not, you’ll soon become fully aware of the passion, blood, sweat, and tears that make this one of the best sports on the planet. Today I sat with the man who brought me up loving this game, raised me to bleed yellow and black, and watched together as our Tigers destroyed their opponents by 89 points in the Grand Final!! 100,014 people filled the Melbourne Cricket Ground (10 off it’s capacity I think), I’d say at least another 20,000 filled the Richmond Football Club’s home ground just outside the main venue, and a sea of yellow and black spilled out onto the streets through pubs and cafes all over the city. We really are part of something much bigger.
Over the years I’ve been asked why I still support the Tiges, and fair enough with them living comfortably on the 9th spot of the ladder for years.. but it’s only been in the last four years that I’ve really come to appreciate the work they do. The club speaks highly of its mantra - to play for and with one another, do it for the Tiger Army. Players no longer aim to get the most disposals, the highest number of touches, or to be the one scoring all the goals.. instead they ensure everyone gets a go, they are the live demonstration of versatility, and what it means to be part of a team.
A stunning example of this comes in two parts - firstly to a senior player who sacrificed being part of a Premiership team to allow a deserving, talented man have his debut on the big stage. Marlion Pickett got the gift of a lifetime to be welcomed to the side, and showed the nation exactly why he was deserved of this opportunity within minutes of being on the field. Credit to Shaun Griggs, you sacrificed something incredible to give another man the chance to prove himself, and man did he do you proud!
Secondly, with Pickett being absolutely sensational in assisting goals and keeping the ball alive, he was able to go one better and also get his first AFL goal during his debut game in the 2019 AFL Grand Final with the Premiership team. Star of the game, Dustin Martin (heart throb, genuinely gorgeous soul, and sexiest man on the ground) has a clear shot at goal and instead kicks across the field to Pickett, who is also open. Making sure that Pickett is given the best chance at creating the most incredible memory in his debut game, Martin gives him the opportunity and Pickett scores his first goal.
Give me the chance and I’ll brag for days on end about my club. I’m a tiger through and through with yellow and black coursing through my veins. My home is Tigerland, and I’ll forever be grateful for the lessons I have learnt about sport from this club. Bring on 2020 Tiger fans, Tiger Time isn’t over yet x
Bachelor of Design (Communication Design)/Bachelor of Business student Osama Sarakibi scored an internship at Richmond Football club in their premiership year!
Osama’s story
During my internship at Richmond Football Club I undertook a number of the daily project tasks of a graphic designer. These included designing branded collateral, updating ticketing forms, touching up photography and assisting in Grand Final presentation assets.
The internship has helped me gain a better understanding of office and administration responsibilities and what that means for in-house designers. Prior to the internship, I believed that the most enjoyable and rewarding projects emerged from studios and agencies. Since undertaking the Richmond internship, I have grown a strong appreciation for in-house design, particularly in the corporate sector.
Richmond has allowed me to exercise creative freedom within my internship. I didn’t expect to work on projects that allowed me to compose elements using my own discretion. The flexibility and freedom to have this personal input was something that I valued and most enjoyed about the internship.
The Club’s work environment is perhaps the most memorable aspect of my internship. The overall office dynamic is a warm and open one. All of the staff members made me feel welcome at the Club, including players, and offered to help whenever I needed it. Not to mention the intense excitement in the office as the Tigers won the 2017 AFL Grand Final premiership!
Prior to the internship, I was only aware of my own skills and what that meant to stakeholders. Having been fortunate enough to see other facets of a workplace broadened my understanding of the industry and helped to develop as an individual, as well as a designer.
I would highly recommend students complete a professional internship before the end of their studies. You’ll gain insight into the mechanics that make a company function as a collective unit and get accustomed to the professional and social cultures of the workplace.
Register for a professional internship or find out more here.

St Kilda will have a sneaky chance against Richmond on Friday. My belief stems from Richmond’s venue request of Metricon for the Semi-Final. The reason for that request? The Fear of Losing. Simply, after the QF loss Richmond did not believe in “Anytime, Anywhere”. The fear of a straight-set exit is clouding their judgement. This year’s GF will be played at the ‘Gabba, why would Richmond willingly pass up a golden opportunity to play an extra game on that ground if they want to maximise their chances to win back-to-back Flags? Because right after the Brisbane loss, Richmond were more worried about disrupting their potential opponents’ game plan than focusing on honing their own. They want to destabilise St Kilda’s (or WB’s, at time of request) preparation after an impending ‘Gabba win. Despite the fact that Richmond’s strength, wet weather play, is actually more suited to a night game at the ‘Gabba’s humid surface, and their superb winning record at that very ground. The Metricon request almost goes against their strength. Because logically, Metricon will have a better chance to be hot & dry than the ‘Gabba next week and that will suit St Kilda more because they a. have a younger list; b. just won a match against WB in hot weather yesterday afternoon; & c. actually have more marking targets, all in good form. Is Richmond cutting off the nose to spite the face? This venue choice has the potential to be an own goal. As usual, AFL is in cohort with Richmond. We all know the AFL wants big clubs like Richmond to advance further in the competition for box office purposes. Not surprisingly, the AFL’s opt-used excuse “bigger crowds for finals” against Kardinia Park in previous years is out the window, along with a handy earner forsaken. The ‘Gabba would hold 10,000 more paying spectators. The AFL is giving up at least $800k for this move in this horrid Covid year when the sport lost over 100 millions of $$$. And most importantly, 10,000 passionate football fans will miss out. Let’s hope the AFL & Richmond won’t end up having eggs on their faces after Friday night’s game. #rolex #afl #stkildafc #richmondfc #stkildasaints #richmondtigers #aflfinals2020 #aussierules (at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CF6W8fKnsnE/?igshid=166e25t3aug7d
