One of the things in our society today is that to show wealth is in bad taste.
I knew a very wealthy family that traveled in small Fiat cars, second class on planes, and dined in ordinary restaurants. For their fear was that someone would see that they were very rich and kidnap them or their children.
Also, a friend of mine who is quite rich always pays cash for everything she buys so no companies can trace her spending and bombard her with unwanted mail and special offers.
One of the things in our society today is that to show wealth is in bad taste.
Also that you might be considered to be gross and ostentatious and only out to impress.
