Lotusland | Hanging cactus planters with Selenicereus and Rhipsalis
Plant of the Day
Wednesday 10 January 2024
The epiphytic cactus Rhipsalis baccifera (mistletoe cactus) is native to South American rainforests. It needs a well-draining compost that is slightly acidic and should be watered thoroughly but allowed to dry out slightly between watering. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's essential to make sure the compost is not constantly wet.

Rhipsalis mesembryanrhemoides is a cactus native to the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro.
Rhipsalis flowers! Not 100% on the species here as I bought this unlabeled. Possibly baccifera. This guy is blooming up a storm in its spot in the new house. Happy for him.
