So there's some very powerful words that people throws around a lot on tumblr dot com. Clickbait words that will make the tone a post sounds "correct" and "shareable" regardless of content. These words come and go. For a while "is valid" was everywhere and people just can't help validating everything and anything.
The evergreen one, which isn't limited to tumblr, is "deserves", especially coupled with "the right to". I use this one a lot, but it can be a trap sometimes. People assume whatever everyone deserves must be a good and necessary thing, food, water, clean air, freedom from taxes and business regulations. See what I did there?
Anyway, Nightvale had a good example of this. Episode 23, Eternal Scout. (Transcript)
If everyone gets to die, then no one will really value death. I used to be young, and idealistic, and think that death was a human right, that everyone deserved to die.
I've seen a post circulating on tumblr that argues "young girls deserves the right to innocence". And it's like... Sure, you can't argue against that. You can't say girls don't deserve innocence. But what is it really arguing? Against harassment or against sex-positivity? Does innocence imply purity? The phrasing kinda conflates all of these in the way where if you agree with one statement, you feel like you should agree with the rest. Anyway, as expected, OP is a radfem blog.
Anyway... If you can think of other examples, please feel free to add other "trigger words" that people should think twice when they see it.
