“This is Favor” is more than an image—it’s a layered memory, a map of survival, and a vision of spiritual inheritance reclaimed through will and wisdom. The homes reflect the mill-style architecture of old neighborhoods in Detroit—places tied to family legacy, some lost to circumstance, others preserved through sacrifice.
At the center, a man lies grounded, not defeated, but fortified. His head is a safe—his knowledge is locked, guarded, precious. It’s his mind, his strategy, his blueprint. Surrounded by ruin, he holds what truly matters: the tools to rebuild, to escape, to rise.
The Ferris wheel looms in the background—a symbol of the State Fair, danger wrapped in tradition. It rotated through summers like a countdown clock of innocence, joy, and risk in Detroit’s high-alert reality. But even amidst fear, the wheel spun on.
Above, a figure ascends in a jetstream—not in full flight, but just enough to show that the capacity is there. He can rise. And he will—even if gravity pulls him back, the knowledge of elevation will never leave him.
That’s what favor is. Not wealth. Not comfort. Favor is access. Favor is a kept mind in a burning world. Favor is being the cycle breaker.
getting paid for getting to it 💯

👀 This case could have easily ended up like the well known #TrayvonMartin case. This young man is lucky to have his life. He has lost an eye and his life is forever changed. 🙏🏾 The brutal beating case of #DafonteMiller resumes January 29th. Please attend the hearing in #Oshawa, show your support for the family and to show the judge that the community is #herefordafonte! 👩🏾⚖️ ⚖️ ✊🏾 Miller was involved in a confrontation with a #Toronto police officer and his brother near Thickson Road and William Stephenson Drive in #Whitby in December 2016. He was 19 years old at the time. Miller was walking with two friends when he was allegedly attacked by two men. He suffered broken bones and will lose the vision in his left eye. Toronto police Const. Michael Theriault, who was off-duty at the time, and his brother, Christian Theriault, have been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and public mischief. Lawyers representing Miller and his family have filed a complaint with the Office of the Independent Police Review Director. They allege Toronto police and Durham regional police tried to cover up the attack to protect the constable and his brother from prosecution. The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) wasn’t notified of the alleged incident until months later. The SIU is an arms-length organization that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault. The Waterloo Regional Police Service has been asked to probe how police handled the incident. @citynewstoronto #trial #courtcase #justice #blackincanada #insolidarity #standforsomething #policebrutality #brampton #rexdale #reggae #reggaeallday #rootsreggaehub #tdot #scarborough #pickering #policecoverup #MLK (at Toronto, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7WziJJHgii/?igshid=1qdf4e6usgrq7
