Sonitus had initially refused, when Tredd told him King Regis wanted to meet him.  It was, as far as the Altissian was concerned, too little too late.

But Tredd had given him his version of a kicked puppy face, and Axis had given him his I’m not mad just disappointed face, and Sonitus had given in. He’d meet King Regis.

The redhead made the arrangements, and swore sideways he was only coming along as a backup interpreter, that the King himself knew sign.

She knew, in coming to Lucis, that she would need some leverage. She needed help, protection, and shelter, and she knew that she couldn’t get that without giving something. It was simply lucky that she did have something that might be wanted. If Insomnia wasn’t interested in the biological research she had, then she was pretty sure she could replicate some of her old roommate’s machinery and weaponry diagrams. 

She’d only been in the city a few days when she approached the Citadel. She had no idea who to talk to about this sort of thing, or how to go about it, so she just went and hoped she’d figure it out along the way.
