Thanks for putting into words why the Billy bullshit this season was so bad. Nobody I've talk to understands why I'm so upset, but there was SO MUCH LOST POTENTIAL. We could have had Dinah's white hot rage, both of them not wanting to admit that at some point they actually started to care about one another. That they were both blinded by their feelings, and it cost them dearly. We could have had this internal mental battle externalize as obsession. But NOPE. We get a Skeevy therapist.
Thank you for this message! I was afraid I was gonna be dismissed as “that crazy shipper” (which I know that I can be ngl), but instead I’ve found that other people have felt the same way and I'm so relieved. We're suffering, but at least we can share our frustrations with each other. <3
And I totally agree, the lost potential is what makes it worst. Just reading you describe it I get so frustrated because it's true, it would have been AMAZING. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't utilize this??? Especially since both critics and fans praised Ben and Amber's acting and wanted to see how they would react on s02. I'm sorry, but it seems like a pretty stupid idea to keep them apart and not explore their relationship. Especially when we consider what we got in return: a bad actress; constrained therapy sessions; a relationship without any chemistry or development; and one dumb memory loss storyline.
TP was one of my favorite shows and now I'm happy that it's getting cancelled. It's pretty sad how they managed to fuck up something that was so good.
