may was a combination of a never-ending nightmare and a constant reminder that life continues even if one's mind is paralyzed with fear.
throughout my health challenges and never-ending battle with the mind, I did manage to somehow achieve some strides: two trips to the cinema (watched the devil wears prada 2 and michael), a work trip outside the province, could (finally) afford to see an optometrist and finally address the prevalent issue that was my near-sightedness. the glasses gods were on my side because i think i look better with them, somehow. also finally purchased 2 new books, and plan to establish a solid relationship with the bookstore i always frequent but never dared to purchase from until this past weekend. i am also trying to keep up with the masses to feel some sense of belonging in this ever changing society by watching movies and series everyone is talking about. i have cautiously watched off campus separately, with two more episodes to go. while i watched heated rivalry a solid month after its release, the hype was still prevalent to still feel a part of something. i think i am fairing better with the former at the very least (also ashamed to admit that i did not know my country had a hockey team. the more you know i guess)
oh yeah, also found out that i am an aquarius rising and not a capricorn one like all my astrology posts suggested, oops. that means revisiting and reinterpreting a lot of charts, though the first physical iteration of this will be trying to predict what will happen with the upcoming solar return.
my goals for this month are few as i recover from the whiplash that was may. and also because one of them is apartment hunting with the goal of moving out by the end of this month and it can be quite the tedious process. the other is expanding my taste buds by trying different restaurants (trying to arrange a date with my best friend so we can go to a korean restaurant close by. did this on friday by going to an italian restaurant for some good pizza and i really liked it) and finish reading the two books I have purchased. continue my streak by watching a movie every weekend whether at home or at the cinema and get as much sleep as possible.
i fear by the time i move into a bigger space this time next month, i would have exhausted all excuses as to why i haven't put any effort into dating. though that is a topic for another day, another month, maybe even another year...
