Experimenting with mid texture arches for Doom mapping for #RAMP2026 . Still needs a bit of work.
Experimenting with creating more #doom textures. Combining images to make a consistent texture set. Going to need to choose a limited palette otherwise we'll be into 1000s of textures π #doommapping #doomtextures #doommodding #retrofps #doomii #texturecreation
This is where I post from πͺ¦

There's leaked presumably from a vertical slice of Human Head Studio's Prey 2 game taken before it was cancelled by Bethesda. This is probably the closest we get to a release unless a miracle happens.
This looks quite good to me and I like seeing and hearing all the Prey 1 references in it!
The sound was also very good. It sounds like they ran the sound card in true 5.1+ channels and then used Dolby or DTS matrixed surround encoding so the positional sounds could be encoded and then unfold to the appropriate sides during playback!
So for example when facing away I could hear the baddies attacking behind me!
I was disappointed that this was cancelled because I played the original Prey countless times and was waiting for the follow-up promised at the end.
After getting over the initial shock of how different this was going to be I started actually looking forward to it!
do you guys like my miis
I can't remember if I've already said this but I'm kinda surprised I can't think of any retro FPSes that have openly taken inspiration from Quake II. Which is a shame because I feel like a lot could be done with some of the gameplay and structural elements Quake II has.
