I finally got to see Don’t Fall In Love With Yourself, the Justin Pearson documentary. It’s very interesting and very cool to learn the history and story about the guy who was in a band that changed how I thought about music and what music can be, The Locust.

I love antagonizing art that isn’t overtly offensive and that is basically what this man’s career has been. I follow whatever project he puts out.

Also got to meet him. Nice as can be. I don’t take pictures with people often but I will with people who are big deals to me.

Dead Cross Shares New Video for “Skin of A Redneck”

JP: When people ask me what kind of music I play, I usually just say “annoying”, and it’s funny, I guess, to some of them, but it also is true. It’s sort of agitated, and I don’t think that’s normally something that people want to admit, that they listen to annoying music.

INTERVIEWER: So you make annoying music, right? That’s what you do. Why?

JP: Well, it’s a lot of things. I like absurdity, and I like to think about what it is, and I like elements of tension in music and any kind of art. I want to be a dramatic push and pull to it [...] and not that everything I’m a part of is really super creative, but I want you to kinda think, whoa, that beat is really odd, or the vocal arrangement is strange, or the lyrics are challenging, what the f**k is that person singing about?
