My Libby holds kind of came for me, so I didn't get through as many books as I wanted, but I did have a few bonus rereads - Plum Duff (carried over from December) and Exit Strategy (book club). I also finally managed to read A Choir of Lies, sequel to A Conspiracy of Truths. It's probably the book that's been on my physical tbr the longest and I'm happy to finally check it off!

winter reads - december 2025 to february 2026

I’m not a fan of winter. I hate the cold and the darkness and I’ve been anxious for spring since late November. So this year I decided to embrace the season and focus on reading (or re-reading) books on my TBR with a winter setting. And coincidentally, the rereads fit perfectly with the January Re-readathon by @logarithmicpanda!

Currently Reading: Fairest by Gail Carson Levine

As part of @logarithmicpanda's rereadthon, I decided to visit an old favourite that I hadn't read since high school. Set in the same world as Ella Enchanted, we follow Aza, a singer of wonderous regard, though she doesn't fully fit her countries current beauty standards. And as the king marries a new queen, Aza starts to see what it means to be beautiful and how beauty does rest in the eyes of the beholder. Including yourself.

Graveyard Shift by M.L. Rio - finished (yes, I know I said I wouldn't reread this yet again. I lied.)

A Wolf Steps in Blood by Tamara Jerée - about 90% complete, I've got less than 20 pages left so I'll probably finish it, like, half an hour from now. It's such a delight, and now firmly in the category of comfort reads.

I'm not sure if I'll do anymore rereads for the month bc I have my work cut out for me with these new loans, but who knows! I might give Light from Uncommon Stars another go, or I'll reread The Immortal Circus by A.R. Kahler for the first time in....10 years? Let's see if I like it as much as i did back them. I'm a very different reader these days.

Next reread on the list is The Thief! Now, this one is interesting because on first read, I did not like it much. I felt it was an okay, but not very compelling book, but so beloved that I continued the series, and found each book better than the last
