contrary to my blogging no one should take this as me endorcing you to watch bridgerton, i think it is really really bad but fascinatingly so but also just as fascinatingly bad at being a romance story like they are, for being The Romance Show of a generation, really really really bad at writing romance. and there is, of course, the napoleon issues as well

#and also the costuming and hair which the hair bothers me way more than anything else (except the corsetry which is so wrong and bad) but oh #my gooood the hair i dont even care if it's accurate buns etc but oh my god put these peoples hair up!#s2 is definitely way more enjoyable than s1 bc it actually lets the characters be flawed without villanizing them or making them above #reproach #i also have Thoughts about the simon & daphne situation which are different from what i heard people say before #but it was still written very poorly and i think #this show was (and still is to an extent) really afraid of letting characters be bad people and make poor decisions and there be actual #consequences to those decisions/actions #and i think in s2 at least it was way better about that and i do understand that to a degree it #can't have anything be too drastic in the effects it causes bc most things have to start and be wrapped up in 8 or so episodes but stilllll #punishing characters is bad and boring but not having there be consequences is equally bad and boring <- my hill #anywahs #this show is like supernatural to me #very bad but somehow very compelling #is this? the new cw?? maybe so
