Why did I do this?

I have no idea, my actions are incomprehensible.

I think it’s safe to say that Professor Fig has become a parental figure to a lot of MC’s.

And Versailles is one of them, though being brought up in a harsh household meant it was a struggle for her to ever trust let alone accept the professors care.

During their decent to the repository, the professor has voiced his concern for Versailles’s head strong plan to take the power for herself, as the professor found himself worried of what it would do to his young charge, who he sees as his own.

Unfortunately in stubborn Versailles fashion she lashes out like a cornered dog, marking her last moments with the professor with her venom.

A moment she will deeply regret for the rest of her life.
