                FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MONTHS, BARRY FEELS that niggling sense of helplessness. he’s been on such a high since leaving the speedforce, that his wheel has finally decided to turn to the low.  ( the only way for him to go now is up, right? RIGHT? ). he hasn’t seen the grey, dull four walls of iron heights for a while — but he never imagined that he’d be sitting where his dad was; the side of the glass that deemed him a CRIMINAL.

                ‘   i didn’t run,   ’    he admits, once iris raises the old phone to her ear. he had tried to keep iris away for as long as he could --- he didn't want her to see him like this. but he knows his wife, and she would walk through HELL for him. because he would do exactly the same. their eyes lock, and barry wishes that he could phase through this glass to wipe the tears from her cheeks. really, at this point he’d just settle to HOLD HER HAND.   ‘   running would’ve made things a whole lot worse... i didn’t — i didn’t KILL him. you know that, right?   ’
