Here my latest work on the bench : the Laney/Klipp Reverb K40L. It’s a solid-state amp from the mid 70′s. The tremolo is really funny and deep and the sound is quite good.
Today on the bench : a Korg Micro-Preset M500 from the late 70's.
It has a strange sound matrix (string, wood, voice, bass) with also the possibility to use some synthesizer VCOs (with white and pink noise).
The sound is awesome with some kind of weird waves. It's possible to tweak the synth sounds with a few option (LFO, VCF, a little enveloppe, a portamento).
The little lilacs capacitors were very old and some of them leaked on the PCB. Some copper traces were destroyed by the electrolytic fluid from the caps. I removed them all and changed them by new ones.
The keyboard wire was also acting weird so I put a new one. Everything is fine now !!!

Today, I modded an old soviet vintage synth from the early 80′s. It’s a monophonic synth called the Aelita / Аэлита. My customer just wanted me to remove the old 5 pin DIN output plug and replace it by a standard jack plug. More info here, and here.

Aujourd’hui, j’ai moddé un vieux synthé vintage (années 80) de l’ère soviétique. Il s’agit d’un synthé monophonique appelé Aelita / Аэлита. Mon client voulait juste que je retire la vieille prise DIN 5 broches et que je la remplace par une prise jack traditionnelle. Plus d’infos ici et ici.

This week on the bench : two silverface Fender amp. One is a Vibrochamp and the other one is a Champ.
Here is an Eurelec tube tester from ‘61. I just bought it a few days ago. There are a few stuff to change but everything is working. Can’t wait to test all the tubes I have !
