100 — New Americana (Halsey)

You watch him drive, one arm hanging out the open window, cigarette in hand. You always told him not to smoke, but he doesn’t listen. You wish you could be more insistent, but every time he inhales, you imagine him exhaling into your mouth. You wish you could taste the tobacco on his breath, the ashes on his tongue, flavored like the void.

You watch him dance, wild and free like no one’s ever told him he’s not good enough. He blasts the bass loud enough to break your eardrums and he grins at you with white teeth flashing in the fading sunlight. The windows are open, and the summer breeze at twilight brushes through the base. He reaches for your hand, and you let him take it, and you dance with him, even though you shouldn’t.

You watch him talk, tracing the lines of his lips with your eyes. He talks with his hands, waving them everywhere, and you always have to pick up his drink so he doesn’t knock it onto the floor. It’s well into autumn now, and everywhere you walk the leaves are changing, turning rosebush-red and terracotta-orange and gilded blackstone-gold. But you sit outside, at a little table at a little cafe courtesy of Scar, and you drink his champagne and wonder.

One reason Ren hasn't yet wed Xisuma is because he doesn't want the man to face more judgment. He can handle it, but he doesn't want Xisuma to.

And, he wants Xisuma to feel special. He should feel the way that Ren does everytime he hears Xisuma laugh at a ridiculous joke he makes. Not that Ren is marrying him for sex! Or to protect him!

“Welcome to the Imperial Senate,” False says, with a smile that doesn’t reach her eyes. “Saying what you mean can get you killed.”

Xisuma: It’s kinda cute when guys have a dark sense of humor.

this took me a while cause I've never really considered their dynamic as a ship, but here you go:

when Ren joins Hermitcraft he's immediately super attracted to Xisuma and doesn't hide it in the slightest

he's following him around and throwing cheesy pickup lines at him and wagging his stupid tail constantly

Xisuma thinks they're incompatible and it'd never work out with Ren

but the man is in full puppy love mode and won't stop trying to court him

Xisuma finds it kind of funny, kind of endearing, so he agrees to one date

he thinks it will be a disaster since Ren is quite chaotic and an airhead

however it turns out that Ren is actually a gentleman and arranges a very elegant date, and that is the moment Xisuma falls for him

this experience teaches him to always give people a chance later in life

when they're dating, Ren often drags Xisuma into his silly adventures

Xisuma acts like he finds them stupid and is tired but they both know he enjoys a break from his serious admin duties

they're not very public with their relationship due to Xisuma being a private person

Ren is fine with that but he HAS TO gush about how amazing his boyfriend is, and so that someone always ends up being Xisuma

Xisuma doesn't really know how to respond to compliments, so in return he spoils Ren with expansive building materials he needs at the moment

Ren is the first person Xisuma opens up to about his past, about EX and all

Ren is very compassionate and will always listen to Xisuma and provide him the emotional support he needs

Xisuma is not a big fan of physical affection but he'll always scratch Ren's ears and tell him what a good boy he is

Ren loves to run errands with his boyfriend and just spend time together
