Time for a truly massive general strike
Sunday thought: Enough
Time for a truly massive general strike
Robert Reich
Jan 25, 2026
Friends,
Enough.
I believe the shots that killed Alex Pretti and Renee Good are the shots heard āround the world that will topple the Trump regime.
From Minneapolis to Davos, people are joining together against Trumpās tyranny.
In Minnesota, they are joining across ethnicity, race, and class against Trumpās gestapo tactics, repression, and murders. Solidarity is spreading to other cities.
In Europe, they are joining across national boundaries against Trumpās threats to their sovereignty, the European Community, and NATO.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, in a speech that drew a standing ovation from world leaders at Davos, called on āmiddle powersā like Canada and Europe to form a new alliance against economic coercion from the worldās great powers (by which he clearly meant Trumpās United States and Putinās Russia).
Across America and across the world, people are realizing itās not possible to appease Americaās dictator. The only way to deal with him is to stand up to him ā and the only way to stand up to him is byĀ joining togetherĀ against him.
Trump backed down from his threatened tariffs on Europe for not supporting his acquisition of Greenland, because Europe and Canada held firm.
Of course, Trump is now hitting back. Heās openly contemplating using the Insurrection Act against Americans who oppose him. Heās threatening Carneyās government with 100 percent tariffs on all Canadian products coming into the U.S. if Canada makes a deal with China. The mad dictator is losing his mind.
Europeans and much of the rest of the world have lived under dictatorships. Until now ā until Trump ā Americans had not.
Yet the āgreatest generationā of Americans ā including many of our parents and grandparents ā risked their lives fighting dictators so that this country would remain free and democratic.
So far, two Americans, both age 37, have given up their lives in Minneapolis in resisting the dictator now occupying the Oval Office.
We must now join together, all of us, to peacefully and decidedly end his dictatorship.
In memory of parents and grandparents who made the supreme sacrifice ā in memory of Renee Good and Alex Pretti ā we must bring down this regime. The first step is a massive general strike.
We will say loudly and clearly: Enough.

i cant give voice to art when the people dont have a voice. We have to be that voice. the government has shown that they will do anything to complete their agenda.

The Supreme Court Standard That Keeps the Renee Good Case in State Hands
Federal conduct must have a direct nexus to federal duties.
ICEās presence in Minneapolis as part of a broad federal immigration enforcement operation does not automatically convert every action by its agents into a federal act. Under Mesa v. California, federal status, uniform, or deployment in a city does not establish that an officerās specific conduct was undertaken āunder color of federal office.ā The Supreme Court requires a direct, functional nexus between the conduct and a federal duty.
Administration officials have attempted to frame the shooting of Renee Nicole Good as occurring āin the course of federal duties,ā including public claims that Good was a ādomestic terrorist.ā But characterizing a civilian as a nationalāsecurity threat does not itself create a federal nexus. Under Mesa, Willingham v. Morgan, and Jefferson County v. Acker, federal authority cannot be manufactured through postāhoc labels or political rhetoric. The conduct must have been tied to an actual federal mission at the time of the encounter.
The encounter between ICE agents and Renee Nicole Good must therefore be evaluated separately from the general federal operation. If the agentsā interaction with Good was not tied to immigration enforcementāmeaning it was not pursuant to a federal order, not directed at a federal target, and not in furtherance of a federal missionāthen the conduct falls outside the scope of federal duties. In that circumstance, the shooting is not a federal act, and federal supremacy under In re Neagle does not apply.
Because the shooting may not have been undertaken in furtherance of federal duties, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension retains full state criminal jurisdiction over the incident. While federal agencies may withhold their own documents under Touhy v. Ragen, Touhy protects federal records, not federal officers. It does not bar the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension from compelling the individual ICE agent to testify, appear before a state grand jury, or face state criminal charges.
Thus, even if federal agencies refuse to share evidence or attempt to frame the shooting as a federalāduty action, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension may lawfully continue its investigation into the deadlyāforce shooting of Renee Nicole Good. The officerās conduct is not insulated by federal authority unless it was actually undertaken in the execution of federal dutiesāsomething the Supreme Court has made clear cannot be presumed from mere federal presence, uniform, or political characterization.
The Cost of Resistance, Aeden Romeyn (@lettucealone)
Renee Nicole Good was not the first and is already not the last. She was the latest in a long line of murders, she just happened to be a white citizen. If you've just started paying attention, ask yourself how much you're willing to lose before you act? The later you begin, the higher the cost of resistance.
Don't wait. There is always something you can do.
Here's How the Minneapolis shooting Happened. Watch closely, watch the Vid really closely. And we Would like to know what you think happened. In your Opinion
