I drew this for the Subaru uke event in japan 英雄と出鱈目ダンスパーティー, it was... a really fun event!! Even when I walked in late, scrambled around looking for Rezero and bought too many books I can't actually read but want to support the artists/writers so badly. Even for the ones I didnt managed to secure a book/merch from I still gifted them the postcard that I printed... I might just be too obsessed (is this really a shock?)

Sure thing!! See, not a lot is known about what the two were really like together before Subaru arrived, but they don't really seem to dislike each other! I imagine that they wouldn't really compete with each other over Subaru, so in this case they're all in a sort of poly type arrangement (I wonder how Subaru explained polyamory to two people from a medieval like fantasy world, though maybe some previous kings of Lugnica had multiple wives who knows) • It at first starts with both of them focusing on Subaru, while they are friends, they are mainly connected by both caring deeply for Subaru and wanting to be there for him • Rem was probably the one who helped Emilia understand what love is supposed to feel like, explaining her own feelings to Emilia and comparing what they both feel. They've got some deep philosophical girl talk going on • They both realized that they can quite literally carry Subaru around (superhuman strength is a wonderful thing) and now they both do it all the time, often Emilia will actually just carry Subaru over to Rem if the oni asks • Rem often braids Emilia's hair, while Emilia convinces Rem to try on new dresses, at some point they started sharing clothes all the time. If you ask, Rem will probably just say it's because she technically doesn't have any casual clothing of her own • Rem wants to grow her hair out and Emilia wants to cut her hair shorter, both are in a sort of cold war where they're trying to stop each other from changing up their haircuts because they already find the other's hair pretty as is • They develop a lot of their own inside language and communication that only them and Subaru can understand, most based on Subaru's many Subaruisms, which does mean that now other people have to deal with them randomly saying stuff that doesn't seem to make sense but does make Subaru laugh his ass off • All the other girls can no longer be around Emilia and Rem without feeling like third wheels • Do Emilia and Rem eventually start to like each other more than platonically?? Probably, but I can assure you that neither one of them is going to notice it • Subaru is the one who notices it first, thus now he has to matchmake his girlfriends together, shenanigans ensue That's all I have for now!!
