Now this is a proper Simon. Religious trauma is my favorite flavor of character angst.
Also, this was a nice excuse to practice my coloring.

"And those remnants can't stay. They need to be amputated."

"No!"
The word escaped the angel's mouth before she could think better of it. This demon couldn't seriously be… no, just no!
Not her wings.
"This is not optional," the demon said, tone cold and hard as a frozen lake.
"You can't!"
The demon had no pity for her plight. "I can, and I will. You can't keep them."
"But…" she began, feeling tears begin to well up once again. "Please. Don't do this."

idk if this means anything, but I just realized something hilarious.
So, Satan has numerous representations, right? Not only is he associated with the number 666 (which Gaster uses a lot), but he's characterized as several different kinds of creatures, the most common being:
Angel
Demon
Dragon
Goat
Human (often with odd features such as red eyes)
And... oh! Wouldja lookit that? ALL of these are prominent figures in DR.
If this wasn't intentional, it's hilarious.
WAIT. FUCK. WAIT. HE’S GOT THE WHOLE WORLD. IN HIS HAND. FUCK.
LITERALLY. LIKE HE LITERALLY DOES. BUT ITS ALSO THR SONG. IT’S A SPIRITUAL SONG. ANOTHER RELIGIOUS REFERENCE. LIKE THE HAIL MARY. HELLO??? I’m probably stupid and everyone else realised this ages ago. But I’m very tired and augjdkdjdh. He’s got the whole world in his hand😭😭 The whole wide world in his hand. He’s got everybody here in his hand. Oh my god. Holy shit.
I love how this montage during the Challenge of the Gods between Thor vs. Sharra & K’ythri overtly references & subverts some of the more grim & disturbing elements from the Biblical Old Testament, such as Abraham’s attempted sacrifice of Isaac, the Nephilim from the Book of Enoch, as well as two of the Ten Plagues of Egypt.
