You, my Lord
Lately, there’s a drought of tears
Except when it rains for only you, my Lord.
You know how fragile my heart is
And exactly how it bruises.
You know that brokenhearted
I come to you because elsewhere I’m unwanted.
I’ve come to you with all my grievances and sorrows;
With so many whys and no hope for tomorrows.
I’ve cried so much to you in the past;
the deep despair in my heart was vast.
But what you’ve done and made me be,
Through your gift of understanding I always see.
You know exactly how to be the perfect teacher
For this humble student who’s willing and eager.
You’re the funniest comedian: most romantic poet.
I know now it was you I was falling in love with.
It was you who I was reconnecting with.
It was you who truly loves me.
I only have you.
Only you, my Lord.
