I am quite split on Jackson Pollock, myself, dear Shannon.
Some of his stuff DOES look pretty, indeed. I myself, like this one from him
and, at first, I really liked his craft because, while not world-class by any stretch, you could see some beauty in it. That piece, for example, at least takes time to uniform the shapeless figures, so it's not a jumbled, garbled painted tantrum.
But then again, Pollock did this as well

Piss off, man, I like some very limited Pollock stuff but most of his stuff is pretty lazy, so ultimately, yeah, I have to agree with you. He isn't bottom tier, but in the end, his only real claim to fame was "an American painter that got fame" so everyone was like on this drive to sponsor him. The upper echelons of the world of art get pretty dirty, sad to say.
