I don't believe in New Year's resolutions. But I do believe in the magic of a reboot. A fresh restart. Today marks 1 month since I started roller skating. Mind you, I've started at age 47! But I needed something to feel good about. A "sport" that can get rid of my hip pain, tone my body, practice in solitude at my own will and have fun while feeling liberated.
Im doing it y'all! Yes, I fell. Still falling, but not hurting! OK, well maybe typical workout muscle soreness from years of inactivation. But I feel literally rejuvenated and literally more flexible!
Im not going to tell you now how this all came to be, I mean...roller skating...at age 47? I'll save that for another post. But I've found the zen in roller skating, and im pushing forward and improving every day I slap my skates on. Its helped my social life also, creating deeper bonds with like-minded friends. So for me...so far....with all of the chaos and anguish in the world right now...im finding my sense of peace...my little piece of heaven here on earth. And it's when I've got my music playing, and wheels spinning in time beneath my feet. Im flying!

Greetings, dear reader!
If you're reading this, you have successfully managed to stick around to witness my failed attempts at the 100 Days of Coding challenge (I made it to day 8), and are now witnessing a different era. I don't know what that says about me, or you. But you're here, and I'm here. I'm hoping you'll join me, once again, on this journey.
When I started this blog, I wanted to solely focus on the coding aspect of my life. I wanted to learn how to code and develop a new skill. But more than that, I was hoping I could distract myself from the emptiness I was feeling. You know how people say that if you're feeling empty, learn a new skill? Well, I tried. Really hard, and over the course of a few years. But, it didn't get me anywhere. And I am not one to give up easily, so we're switching gears. We're changing the theme of this blog and going back to the drawing board.
So, what will this blog be about?
Good question, I knew you were going to be the perfect companion for my journey!
This blog will be about everything!
It'll be a record of my life, and myself, so it'll be about everything. My thoughts, my routines, my interests, my hobbies- you name it! I'll come in to talk, and explore my interests on a deeper level. Eventually, we'll find an answer. Answer to what makes me feel and fills the emptiness.
What role do you play?
Well, you'll be my companion of course! I could totally do this whole thing in my Notion, or write in a journal. I just need to record this thing to log progress, it really doesn't have to be public. But, I'm sure many people have the same struggles. In the era of information overload and attention economy, we've lost passion and succumbed to the emptiness. We've all become the shell of who we once were, but it is fixable.
You and I, dear reader, can fix this. We can work together, talk to each other. Come, let us get out of this funk we find ourselves in, and become who we are meant to be.
Thank you, for being here with me! Your companionship means more to me than you realise โก
Our woven selves
On my healing journey I have often turned to metaphors in an attempt to articulate what I think and feel about my situation. Iโve spoken of the โtidalโ (rather than linear) nature of healing, and the โrising tide of advocacyโ, both of which affirm the fluid nature of the wellness-illness spectrum I reside in. In other posts I have referred to healing โpathsโ and spoken of my journey as sometimesโฆ

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi is okay with reinventing the bus
Right this moment, Iโm speaking with Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. We recorded this dialog the day Uber introduced an enormous set of product updates, together with new choices for shared rides and a few options to make commuting simpler and extra predictable. Dara was in New York for all that, so he got here to our studio, and we did this one collectively, which at all times makes for an awesomeโฆ
