The monumental interiors of the German Reichstag in Berlin shortly after its completion in the late nineteenth century, recording the building's original decorative program before later alterations, wartime destruction, and postwar reconstruction. Produced with large-format view cameras using glass dry-plate negatives, they exhibit exceptional geometric accuracy, tonal range, and fine detail, allowing intricate stone carving, woodwork, murals, and sculptural ornament to be reproduced with remarkable fidelity.
