Still a great game and Ottawa is as nerve-wracking as ever.

But hit before the Leslie goal should’ve drawn a penalty. And Nurse should’ve drawn multiple penalties.

People let their hatred of a team (which often is just bc “oh they’re a regional rival” or “I literally believe everything I read on the internet and only look at clickbait article titles without context”) turn into not caring when someone on that team gets hurt. People in particular hate Boston and vegas SO MUCH that anything that happens to them is qualified with “well you have marchand/reaves on your team so that random other person on the team deserved to be elbowed in the head!” Or they’ll see a dirty play by reaves against someone who earlier made their OWN dirty play and decide that only reaves should be punished lol.

Officiating in every game for every team is genuinely disgusting when it comes to hits clearly targeting the head, and I’m tired of watching someone like Marc Savard suddenly tweet how much he misses hockey (followed by him saying “oh sorry I was just having a moment I didn’t mean to get emotional”), or talk about how he is still in pain and will be for the rest of his life, only to turn around and see people calling bruins players pussies for needing to be taken to the hospital after a headhunting hit. These are HUMAN BEINGS and you treat them like they’re fucking expendable!!! Disposable dolls that just hit people and eventually get taken out of the league when your fave does a super fun not at all dirty thing!!!!! JUST BECAUSE THEYRE ON A TEAM YOU DONT FUCKING LIKE.
