Sometime after the tournament had ended, matters slowly returned to normal as all the fighters returned to their lives, though in this case, Wario decided to treat himself to a getaway at Las Shroomas, a resort some miles away from Diamond City.
How and why the tactician managed to get roped into this, well, he doesn’t particularly remember. At least Robin proved to be more bearable than all the people Wario dealt with on a daily basis. So much so that he even allowed him to hitch a ride on the back of his chopper!

Diddy had originally tagged along with Robin for some rest and relaxation away from DK Isle, in which he grew tired of all the usual Kremlings and Zingers mucking up his day when all he wanted to do was laze about -- even after countless adventures he started to develop what they call adventurer’s fatigue.
Besides, Ylisse sounded like a pleasant area with less tropical weather and a nice change of scenery to vacation in. Sure there was a war and everything, but that was already taken care of, right?
... that of course didn’t account for the sudden appearance of Diddy’s favorite type of people around: pirates. Turns out a group of them decided to lay siege onto one of Ylisse’s marina ports to pillage the nearby towns.
“Don’t these guys have anything better to do!?” In the meantime, he’d bounce off the head of one brigand and scurry over to a corner in hopes of finding safety, but they just kept appearing with swords and a twisted grin to boot. “Robin, I think they’re cheating! I’m surrounded!!”
