Transition Update
Damn I haven't done one of these in quite a while lmao.
Yesterday I had my second appointment with Charing Cross GIC, my last one was in July last year and I'm now currently 9 months on testosterone.
I had previously seen Dr Barrett and he said given that a second doctor agreed he would give me the go ahead for a top surgery referral and that is exactly what happened.
I saw Dr Bhatia yesterday and I was only in there for like half an hour because there wasn't a whole lot to discuss (she was really nice btw) and pretty much straight away she let me know she was very happy to give me referall for top surgery!
I am over the moon! I've chosen Mr Kneeshaw who works at Castle Hill hospital in Hull as I like his results the most although I know he can be in high demand. I'm currently waiting on his secretary to get back to me about waiting times (I should imagine they are a year or more long because I'm relying on the NHS) and then all I've got to do is wait it out.
I cannot wait to have surgery- my chest dysphoria has always been fucking terrible and I know I have a long wait ahead but just knowing that I'm on a waiting list now has given me an enormous sense of relief.
I don't know when my next appointment with Charing Cross will be but I know it will be to discuss a hysterectomy and metoidioplasty.
I will update again once I know more about waiting times and when I shall be having a consultation with him! In the mean time anyone that has any experience with Mr Kneeshaw (on the NHS or privately) I would love to be able to message you and talk about it!
