Don't Think I Don't See You.
I glanced out the back door and spotted a red-shouldered hawk (Buteo lineatus) perched on a limb, eyeing my bird feeders like a feathered predator on surveillance duty. Gives โbird feedersโ a whole new meaning, doesnโt it? I grabbed my camera and started snappingโbut the hawk took off, and thatโs when I realized there was no SD card in the camera. I fixed that blunder, then Charlie and I sat outside for a bit, hoping the hawk might return. To our surprise, it didโsomething I wished for but didnโt actually expect. The funny part? A bunch of pigeons loitered on the roof of my little garage, completely unfazed. Maybe they know the hawk canโt catch them.
