Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon A Current Analysis
Since Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon’s (REDMD) placement on the limited list way back in September of 2012; for the last two years we have watched as the decks that made it so infamous collapse rise, and fall, again and again. REDMD has been a staple for many, many years prior to its usage in the Dragons of the Zexal Era (Primarily Hieratic Dragons and Chaos Dragons). In its prime REDMD was the main focus of many dragons’ decks and even prompting the Underdog of the Meta Disaster Dragons – sporting a whopping three Copies of REDMD. However that was then and this is now. Many know that I am an avid dragon player. Sporting y trademark Blue-Eyes White Dragon Deck that much like many other decks has proven to be an underdog in its various stages of development over the course of the Meta, over different formats, and over many different deck builders. Many other deck builds wanting to sport the three copies of REDMD to get their power plays off more and more, to get beaters, and to follow up with the Meta in its various stages. However right now I am noticing a decline in both REDMD’s presence and power in both Decks, and the Meta. We all remember the Dragon Ruler Formats (if you are unaware of these formats in question you are a lucky) the decks that dominated were quick XYZ decks, forming quick rank 7’s (believed to be the most powerful) such as Number 11: Big Eye, Mecha Phantom beast Dracossack, and Number 74: Master of Blades being the most common among others. With many of the rulers being level seven and easy enough to summon on their own: with assistance from the “babies” or just by their own effect. Many early or inexperienced renditions of the deck thought of utilizing REDMD to allow additional special summoning and even getting effects of the Rulers off due to the Banish to special summon clause on REDMD. This proved to be less then fruitful and so the Dragon Rulers in no way had any association with REDMD. For those Fans of REDMD I am sure that many are thankful for that. As many of the cards that the Rulers had used, are now either limited or even banned completely. Such cards like Super rejuvenation, Dragon’s Ravine, Return from the Different Dimension, the limiting of Seven Star Sword, and Debris Dragon (going from Semi-limited to limited) to name a few off the top of my head. However I can see that currently even with two Dragon Decks REDMD has fallen out of style and I can easily see this monster returning possibly as a semi-limited card. The threat of the Hieratic OTK is not nearly as prevalent as it once was and the Chaos Dragons are filling up with other bigger and better support. I may be wrong in this assumption however I can see its glorious return. Yet if it stays at its current spot as well, I am indeed hoping that it will return someday as more and more powerful cards are released maybe we’ll see REDMD return.
The main engine of the deck or perhaps the secondary, hieratic dragons were once tier 1 when this card was available at 3 but now hieratics rank 2nd in the tiers and REDMD is limited to ONLY ONE.
run one please -_-
