The broken and incomplete Obelisk ๐๐๐๐ถ โthnโ made of red ๐๐๐ด โinsโ granite ๐ณ๐ฟ๐๐๐๐ซ โmAtโ of Hatshepsut in Aswan, Egypt - Beloved Land ๐พ๐ธ๐๐ต๐๐๐ โtA-meriโ.๐ค Its creation ๐๐ณ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ โqm3โ was ordered by Pharaoh Hatshepsut (๐๐ ๐๐ธ๐๐๐๐ผ๐ช) โ[Foremost of Nobel Ladies], United with Amunโ โimn-hฬฑnmt hฬฃA.t sฬps.wtโ (1508โ1458 BC ๐ผ๐ฆ๐-๐ผ๐ฅ๐๐), possibly to complement what would later be known as the Lateran Obelisk (which was originally at the Temple of Karnak ๐๐ช๐๐จ๐๐ช โip.t-swt.tโ in Luxor, and was later brought to the Lateran Palace in Rome).๐น The unfinished obelisk is nearly one-third larger than any ancient Egyptian ๐๐๐๐๐ญ๐ช โrmTโ obelisk ever erected. If finished it would have measured around 42 m ๐๐ป (approximately 137 feet ๐ข๐๐) and would have weighed nearly 1,090 metric tons ๐ผ๐ (1,200 tons ๐ผ๐ฃ), a weight equal to about 200 ๐ฃ African elephants ๐ฐ. The obelisk's creators began to carve it directly out of bedrock, but cracks appeared in the granite ๐ณ๐ฟ๐๐๐๐ซ โmAtโ and the project was abandoned. The bottom side of the obelisk is still attached to the bedrock.
