~This thread contains Ragnarok Spoilers~
@redalloy continued from here:
At first, the trickster didn’t seem to acknowledge Tony as he approached. He was too busy, lost in his thoughts. This rooftop offered the best view of the stars, and Loki would often come up here late at night to be alone, to look up at the little twinkling gems that littered the sky and just think. Lately, the thing that most occupied his mind was Asgard...
“...You could say that.” The God sighed slightly, closing his eyes and breathing in the cool night air. The image of Ragnarok was still burned into his retinas, his home reduced to nothing in Surtur and Hela’s fiery destruction. He kept running through the events that lead up to it, turning everything over in his mind, wondering if there was a way he could have prevented this. Deep down, he blamed himself. Perhaps if he hadn’t sent Odin away, maybe the Allfather could have put a stop to it all before it had spiralled so out of hand...
‘Asgard is not a place. It is a people.’ He reminded himself. ‘As long as the people are safe and well, Asgard shall not fall...’ Well, that may be true but it didn’t change the way that Loki felt. The way he longed to return to the ‘Golden Realm’, to walk through the Palace halls, to spend his days in the vast library or the stunning gardens... But he couldn’t, and he’d never be able to again.
“Regardless-” He continued, clearing his throat slightly as he made an effort to push these thoughts aside, glancing to Tony. “It does not do well to dwell on the matter... My home is long gone.”
