Angsty Redacted Listener Headcanons because I feel like it
Lovely – When Lovely was abducted by Adam, Vincent was the only one who noticed they were missing. They were new to Dahlia, hence why they went exploring, and didn’t know enough people who would realise something was wrong and could come check on them.
Darlin’ – Darlin’s friend who was attacked by Quinn was an informed unempowered. However, after the attack, the Department decided to do a memory modification to protect covert (in case they accidentally revealed something). So while they were allowed to remember Darlin’, they didn’t remember that Darlin’ was a shifter. This led to the pair of them growing distant during the time Darlin’ was hunting Quinn. They still struggle to reach out.
Treasure – Treasure grew up in an environment where being useful was equated with worth and attention, which drew them to the friends they had when they first met Porter. Those are the kind of friends they’d had all their life.
Angel – After the Inversion, Angel wouldn’t cry in front of David, because they needed to let him be vulnerable. Instead, they would cry on their lunch breaks at work, because that gave them enough time to clean themselves up before heading home.
Babe – Babe’s parents don’t like Asher. They find him immature and dislike the fact that the pair of them always go away for the winter with Asher’s friends, instead of spending time with them (I wonder why).
Sweetheart – Sweetheart’s accidental cloaking when having a panic attack stems from a horrendous boss at their first job, and the fact they would often be yelled at if they had a panic attack on the clock and weren’t working.
Starlight – Starlight isn’t actually very good at magic. They’re a brilliant student and theoretician, but in practice, they struggle. They were the gifted kid up through high school but were barely passing their classes once they went to a magical academy.
Doc – Doc has some kind of physical difference about them that makes them stand out and made them the target for bullies their whole life. They have been called ‘freak’ and ‘abomination’ many times, just like Hush.
Warden – Warden is more nervous of Reborn Vega than the Vega they first met. OG Vega had a file, and a record, and eager confessions. They knew what they were dealing with. This Reborn Vega is completely unknown to them, and they don’t know how to handle it.
Sunshine – Sunshine’s favourite dream used to be the campfire in the woods, where Elliott first started revealing his feelings. Now, whenever they go back there, they get nervous and feel like they’re about to drown. And they have no idea why.
Dreamer – Dreamer often gets nightmares about Quinn’s attack, but they don’t use their Dreamwalker powers to change it. They’re afraid they’ll be stuck in their dream again, forgetting what the truth of reality is, but this time with no one to wake them up.
