Which of the boys videos are your favourites?
With over 55 playlists and 35 characters (I may have miscounted but can you blame me? There’s so many) I’m curious to see which videos from which boys managed to strum your eardrums just right.
(Side Note I am going to excluding Theo, Lincoln, and Corvus from this list only because of how new they and the Re: Start series are)
Now in no particular order here are MY favourites from each boyo -
David: “Your Alpha Werewolf Boyfriend Proposes.” Starting off strong with the first one here. David was never really my favourite but I love him as one of the “Ogs” of the channel and personally I haven’t seen such character growth in a character like him in a while. I feel like the proposal video really acknowledges how far he and Angel have come as a couple and how prepared they are to tackle the future together.
Ivan : “Caught Hiding From Your Yandere ‘Boyfriend’” Ivan was such a guilty pleasure dude for me I swear and I LOVED the big reveal in his ending. But I really admire Eric’s ability to display genuine manic panic in this video.
Asher : “Consoling Your Sweet Werewolf Boyfriend.” I’ll preface this by saying that the Aftershock series is by far one of my absolute favourite series - there’s just something about being allowed such an intimate glimpse at the way the Inversion affected everyone involved but Asher’s hit especially hard with that final line where he reassures Baaabe that the scars don’t hurt and that it’s safe to rest their head on his chest, like they used too. You can tell that, that had been weighing heavy on Asher’s mind.
Gavin : “Comforted By an Arrogant Incubus.” God choosing just one of Gavin’s audios as my favourite was way harder than I thought it’d be. Gavin is by far my favourite and he has remained as such since the very start. I’ve loved listening to this character become more open with his feelings but holy shit listening to the moment he tossed aside his ‘arrogant’ mask immediately after sensing that something was wrong with Freelancer was such a thing of beauty (and I was so excited to hear FL finally get everything off their chest)
Vincent : “3 Times Vincent Couldn’t Say How He Felt, and 2 Time He Did.” Vincent is so unapologetically genuine in his affections towards Lovely these days but this video really shows how long that took for him to express. I loved watching this Prince graduate from a flirty little shit into a supportive, loving partner. (I also just really loved being given a glimpse into Vincent’s head during the memories/flashbacks shown in the video.)
Caelum : “Bakadere Empathy Daemon Helps With Your Project.” What can be said about this precious, cotton candy hearted, helpful little homie? A lot but we ain’t got time for that. But for real - over the course of the Freelancer series Caelum was such a breath of fresh air and a surprisingly good source of worldly information when it came to his rambling. This video was actually the first time it really clicked for me how connected everyone in Dahlia really is with Caelum eluding to the fact that he was once very close with David of all people.
Ollie : “Coworker Confesses His Feelings For You.” I’ll admit Ollie isn’t typically my go to when it comes to re listening to audios but I do appreciate the vibes he brings to the table. His confession was really sweet and I could FEEL the nervousness radiating through my headphones during my first listen.
Elliot : “Digging Deeper With Your Dreamwalker Boyfriend.” God what can I say about Elliot that hasn’t already been said? He is SUCH a cool character - maybe that’s just my overwhelming love of Dreamwalkers talking but I adore everything about Elliot and Sunshine’s story and I especially loved how they got to play the detective role on their series before everything kinda went to shit.
Avior : “Back To The Real World With Your Demon.” Avior and Starlight deserve a god damn break for all the hell their storyline has put them through…but god damn it if I didn’t love listening to every minute of it. That video was everything - the flashbacks, the tender words, the reunion kisses - chef kiss
Milo : “Questioning A Feisty Werewolf.” MILO THE MAN YOU ARE! There is a very special place in my heart for this short king and honestly I think he and Sweetheart had the funniest introduction. It perfectly demonstrated what the entirety of their relationship would be like.
Lasko : “The First Time With Your Nervous Boyfriend.” Oh Lasko the breath of fresh air you are. Him and Dear unexpectedly became so dear to me in such a short amount of time and honestly? I related so hard to Lasko in this video when he explained how, to someone with anxiety and other struggles, new and exciting things can feel so scary and that shit is unfair.
Damien : “Meeting Up With a Tsundere Fire Elemental.” The heartburn heartthrob I never wanna get rid of. The first time I listened to the Freelancer series I was pleasantly surprised at how well Redacted portrayed the situation with Kody and I think the best example of that was with Damien in this video. Here we have a character who is infamous for his fiery outbursts and acts of aggression but he stuffed that shit aside to try and focus on what was best for his struggling friend. I really, REALLY, liked that scene.
Huxley: “Hiking With A Sweet Himbo Earth Elemental Bro.” The sweetest man on earth I swear if he and Caelum were ever in the same room together the world might explode due to the uncontainable delight those two exude. He’s just a good, solid dude and I felt so at ease listening to the hike video - honestly he has that effect no matter which video he appears in.
Camelopardalis : “Comforting A Struggling Serenity Daemon.” Anyone ever wonder who comforts the therapists? This video answered that question. It ALSO brought up something I love hearing discussed in these series - the struggle between what demons/daemons are ‘built for’ and what they feel on top of that.
Blake : “Your Possessed ‘Boyfriend’ Struggled To Maintain Control.” Anybody who has given my page a sideways glance knows exactly how I feel about Blake and why despite him having done literally everything wrong ever in his life he is still my beloved pookie bear. Now choosing a favourite from him was a challenge and I almost went with his HBS audio but honestly, story wise? This HAS to be my all time favourite because you can hear this man being torn at the seams and using all of what’s left of his strength to keep himself together and he is still left in shambles. I also just know it in my gut that Bestie is planning something behind his back and this video is my proof.
Aaron : “Your Tsundere Boss Confesses His Feelings to You.” Admittedly Aaron is not my go too but him and his big bald head are too beautiful to not add regardless.
Sam : “Vampire Tends to Your Inuries.” Save a horse ride a vampire or…or something. Look Darlin wasn’t the only one who experienced the healing scenes in this video and decided then and there “This cowboy is MINE.” No but fr, this was genuinely the moment I fell for Sam and became locked in on his and Darlin’s storyline.
Regulus : “Possessive Yandere Daemon Can’t Hold On.” One of the rare times I was struck mute with shock. Regulus’s playlist brought with it such a unique sense of unease with it and I was surprised that we were given the chance to see what happens when a Daemon/Demon is deprived of the emotions they need to feed on to live.
Vega : “Your Sadistic Demon Has Lost His Memory.” Finally someone just as confused about their situation as I am. I didn’t think a Vega redemption arch was possible (and I’m still on the fence about my feelings towards this silver voiced bastard) but damn if seeing this powerful older than dirt entity be so vulnerable was something else.
Geordi : “Listening In On Your Crush’s Thoughts.” This man and Cutie make me feel such god damn feelings it’s annoying and I love it. I also love knowing that Geordi’s thoughts are just as jumbled and sporadic as mine and hearing his internal thoughts in that first episode was just adorable.
Guy : “Sneaking Up On Your Chaotic Menace Of A Boyfriend.” If someone were to ever be diagnosed as terminally silly it would be Guy. And I love the videos that show his silliness rubbing off on Honey and him being so very much into it.
Porter : “Heating Up In The Knight With Your Vampire.” The man, the menace, the moody vampire himself. The entire reason I have dedicated 7 whole bucks a month to this damn channel. I have loved every moment of Porter’s emotional development but holy hell was there something so ridiculously hilarious about him doing Vincent so dirty by not only ignoring his calls but immediately going to a fucking amusement park right after.
Hush : “He’s More Than A Purpose.” If there has ever been a more perfect way to describe the overwhelming feeling of being autistic I haven’t seen it. I know this is said a lot but I genuinely felt so seen in this video with the way Hush talks about nobody following the “rules” he was made to uphold and believe in.
