Interesting how there are cat breeds that are exclusively black or exclusively white, or exclusively blue, or exclusively chocolate, but nothing that is exclusively red. If there was, though, I would love it. In purebred cats they do have richer reds than the general population but if they had a specifically red breed and just made it their goal to make it as obnoxiously orange as possible we would see levels of orangeness and stupidity never before seen in the cat population.
Honestly yeah, it's interesting.
The only one i could think of is turkish van which is... well, predominantly white, and accepts other colors beside red, too. (But as far as I know, the orange variant is the most popular.) But since the main point of their coloration is the white, they won't focus on getting them as orange as possible. Pity.
I think we should do it with abyssinians/somalis. They have a great rufousing already, it'd be like a double dose of orangeness from the start
