I finished Fallout: New Vegas for the first time and now i don’t know what to do with my life
If you were to revamp Red Lucy to fit into Scarlet Witch current mythos, what would you do?
If anyone's curious-- Lucy Keough is a distant ancestor of Wanda and Pietro, who was introduced in a short story called Separate Lives, which was published in Marvel Presents #60-63. She lived during the 16th century and was a pirate known as Red Lucy. In Separate Lives, Lucy acts as a host for Wanda's spirit, which has been sent back in time.
In Separate Lives, Lucy is a neither a mutant, nor a witch, so she wouldn't necessarily be directly impacted by the changes to Wanda and Pietro's origin story. She is, however, related to them through Magneto, which can no longer be true in the current canon. Lucy being an ancestor of Natalya and, potentially, a part of the Scarlet Witch lineage could make sense-- she has an affinity for the color red, and while she doesn't seem to possess powers of her own, her ability to act as a spiritual host and mystical conduit for Wanda might speak to a latent sensitivity to magic. She also has twin children of her own, which clearly runs in the family, and could be a cool magical quirk for the Scarlet Witch line.
That said, I am a little hesitant to make make every single person in Wanda's extended family a witch-- the majority of Romani characters in Marvel comics are magical, and that can be a stereotype, so I'm protective of the ones who aren't, like Andrei and Sofia. We don't actually know if Lucy was Romani or Jewish-- Separate Lives was published in the 90s, so it overlaps with the period where Magneto was Sinti-- but her surname is Irish, and her children live in Normandy. Anything can happen in four hundred years, but I doubt that Lucy belonged to the same Romani vitsa as the Maximoffs. It's just as likely that these are white people who married or had children with Roma somewhere down the line-- but I don't think there should ever be a non-Roma Scarlet Witch, so I'm once again reluctant to give Lucy magic.
In Separate Lives, Wanda's spirit was sent into the past by a villain named Alder Revery. He's a pretty corny character with very silly motives, but he's also a spellcaster, and he flees the scene without getting caught. Revery could come back as a magical villain, even if just for a single issue, which would give Wanda an opportunity to reflect on her experience with Lucy. I don't think she needs to make an appearance, and I don't even necessarily think it's important for Wanda to have all the answers about their family tree, but it would still be nice to get a name drop or a flashback.
The lengths I will go to for a beautiful red haired woman TT_TT
Can I at least have a forehead kiss before you send me off to my death Lucy

"Here we escape from our bonds, and choose the moment of death against the will of destiny."
I've been thinking a lot about New Vegas again. Some more character doodles for the soul
