Favorite Female Character (swapping these two, hashtag feminism): Lenuccia Greco, obviously. I can't understand people hating her because she sucks, when she has no qualms in showing us readers the pettiest and darkest parts of her soul. I love her for her faults, but also her honesty.
Favorite Male Character: I mean Enzo Scanno is a saint, but I'm quite fond of Antonio Cappuccio tbh
Least Favorite Character: it has to be Sarratore senior, he's disgusting full stop. I find the infamous Nino so pathetic he doesn't even deserve my hate (also tbh I despise how he monopolizes the conversations around these books in certain spaces. Still centering male characters for better or worse, mh?)
Favorite Ship: honestly none aha. LilaxEnzo does give you trust in humanity back, tho.
Favorite Friendship: ...do I even have to write it ahah
Favorite Quote: Lenù's "monologue" about almost making it and Lila's explaining smarginatura.
Worst Character Death (if any): probably Alfonso's
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: actually is that moment from s2 of the show, when Stefano appears to Lila trough the frosted glass door of the bathroom. It's such a perfect transfer to the visual medium of how she describes him in that moment in the book, I literally started cackling. I love the art of adaptation!
Saddest Moment: the reveal(s) of why Lila has decided to vanish and cut ties with Lenù
Favorite Location: opinion heavily influenced by the tv series, but it has to be Ischia. What a vibe. Lenù’s Florence apartment is also amazing.
