And I can see why people didn't like Quarantine.
i understand why people love Rec so much
Rec (2007, dir. Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza)
As far as found-footage horror movies go, Rec is probably one of my favorites.

Movies I Saw in 2025 - REC
#79
Oh, @vaultsy and @tomthanx are gonna be mad about this one - my 2007 movie, REC.
This is how I usually feel like my movie lists go - the first dozen or so are bad because they're poorly made or just stupid. The second dozen are usually fine with some glaring flaw that pulls me out of it. That's where REC falls. It's an okay movie that has its flaws - I will forever be enraged whenever characters start fucking each other over for no reason in horror movies - but would have been much better if they just hadn't introduced that stupid possession twist that's introduced in literally the last fifteen minutes or so with no preamble.
Picture this - you're the Vatican. You catch wind of this young girl that's possessed. You decide, no problem, you're the Vatican. This is kind of your bag. You can just send a guy to go help her with an exorcism, no biggie, pass the communion wine. What's that? This rando you sent to perform an exorcism failed? Well, ain't that just a kick in the ass. I suppose there's nothing more to do but lock her up in a penthouse apartment in a residential building full of normal, unpossessed people in the densely populated urban center of Barcelona, and not in the Vatican where she'll be surrounded by priests, or at least anywhere that isn't full of normal people who'll instantly turn on each other the minute any of them are told they have to quarantine for a while. We, the Catholic Church, are so smart!
REC (2007)
Any1 who knows me knows I'm a HUGE found footage horror fan. I just watched Rec for the first time and just
WOW
So far, Hell House LLC has been my favorite of the genre and Rec feels like a new dish from a beloved restaurant.
Like genuinely, please please please if you havent watch Rec. It's in spanish but there are english subtitles on Tubi.
I had a couple complaints but overall, i love how realistically it depicted disaster. Maybe that's just the found footage aspect, but I feel it did an amazing job with showing people at their worst. (harsh but true)
anyhow, i'm DYING for some good movie recs. (pun unintented)
7/10
