Carrot-Celery-Pear Fiber Juice
2 pears
1 large carrot
5 stalks of Celery
1 teaspoon of Flax Seed Fiber
Serve over ice, and voila! :) It's a sweet refreshing drink that is easy to make, and gentle on the palette for new juicers.
I will post on the benefits and use of Flax Fiber on another entry.
I love plants so much, Im making a garden in my belly! Hahaha. #juicing #rebootchallenge
Reboot Day 1: Withdrawal
Ever known how addicts have withdrawal when they refrain from satisfying their addiction? I've seen this in movies, and personal experiences. More often than not, the first step is the hardest. This phase tests your mental, emotional and physical control on things since it detoxifies one from it's usual dependency. In my case, food. Junk food. Addicts have different ways of coping with this 'withdrawal'. But one thing is common, there is a need, a thought that keeps brushing ones mind, heedlessly tempting to be satisfied. There are only 3 probable results that can come out of this. 1. Succumb to the temptation 2. Replace this temptation (for smokers, this withdrawal turns to eating just to keep their mouths pre-occupied) 3. Divert this energy and attention into creative and productive activities. In my case, I'm blogging about it to keep my thoughts pre-occupied with things related to my detox which gives me healthy thoughts. This is actually my second day already, and believe me, the first day was torture. I kept thinking of food the whole day. I almost ate an oat cracker at the end of the day, but with awareness and control, I was able to calmly stop myself. And just like an addict who is for the first time taught about control. If learned properly and effectively. Control becomes an immense power.
