WARNING - LONG POST; • The last few weeks I’ve had a weird shift in perspective. I guess you can say having a sick sibling might’ve sparked it, but I think that I’ve just been growing in ways that I never really expected. • I don’t really talk about it much - the whole sick sibling thing. Because talking about it makes it real. But I guess lately I’ve just been thinking about how much I’ve physically, mentally, and emotionally changed in the last 2 years since my brother got sick. How him getting sick really caused this shift in perspective for me. And I realize that I’ve gotten stronger in every aspect of my life. I’ve found ways to keep my family my priority, while not allowing myself to fall into the back seat. I’ve learned how to manage my emotions, brush away all the negative energy, and I’ve found ways to cope with everything changing around me. Including myself. • I bring this up because these last few months have been really hard for my family and I. In and out of urgent care, the ER, the hospital. Literally just hoping for a break, praying for one good month. Hell, even just one good week. And even though we have yet to gain that, that one good week, I still look at where we are today as something to be grateful for. A few years ago, I don’t know if we would’ve been mentally strong enough for what we’re going through now. But I do know that going through it together has made us stronger. And I know that in time, we’ll get that good week, good month, and hopefully good years to come as long as we keep pushing on together. 💙 • This is just a reminder that you never really know what someone is going through. I don’t wish any of this upon anyone. The not knowing, staying up at night, hoping that everything is okay. On the surface, someone might look strong, steady, like they have everything together. But behind that smile, they could be drowning, barely keeping their head above water, holding onto their last bit of strength. Everyone is fighting a battle that you’re unaware of, so be kind. It’s free. 💕 • • • #reallifeshit #ilovemyfamily #familyovereverything #foe #onedayatatime #mentalhealthmatters #strongerthanyesterday #justkeepfighting https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf9OabNFG9Y/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
