“If no one ever takes a risk to try to change things, then nothing will ever change. And is that really any better?”
-Reality Winner
And let's be clear about her motive -- she wanted to alert the media that the FBI had proof Russia had interfered in the 2016 US election on behalf of Trump.
In other words, she saw it as her patriotic duty. Compare and contrast with Trump.
don't forget Reality Winner - she was punished for One Page
fearlessly brilliant Sydney Sweeney in “Reality” (Tina Satter, 2023)

Winner
Winner [trailer]
Winner is a brilliant young misfit from Texas who finds her morals challenged while serving in the U.S. Air Force and working as an NSA contractor.
Uses a much different approach than Reality. More satirical, which is more conventional but it makes for an entertaining watch.
While that way it doesn't necessarly do justice to the personal fate of Reality Winner, it still works well in exposing the hypocrisy of the US justice system.
Just compare this case with the special treatment the convicted felon received who stored countless boxes of classified material in his tacky bathroom, and we'll never find out to which countries he possibly sold the information to.
