Kristen Bell
when i wake up in a bad mood i talk to my man and feel better
Ive seen a lot of posts from people complaining about some of the picrews popular on tumblr right now. This isnt about people pointing out how artists should do a better job of inclusivity, especially with darker skin tones, that's completely valid
But for those complaining about how kids on tumblr are making them with "ugly" art styles, first, ask yourself:
Did you pay the artist?
Did you pay the artist?
Did you pay the artist?
Did you pay the artist?
Did you pay the artist?
Did you pay the artist?
Did you pay the artist?
Did you pay the artist?
Did you
Pay
The artist?
Did you pay the artist?
Did you pay the fucking artist?
No? Then shut up.

Made this last night - super quick, super easy, super delicious. I used shaved fontina to serve because itās what I had on hand, and added spinach. (I donāt love vegetables so I add spinach to pretty much everything for ~health~)
I think next time Iāll add mushrooms too.

While this frugal mindset helped protect me when times were more famine than feast, it also left me terrified of checking of checking my bank account, taking on additional monetary responsibilities, or making the kind of investments that could ultimately grow my long-term wealth.

"Internet linguistics isn't just a study of the latest cool memes," McCulloch writes, "it's a deeper look into day-to-day language than we've ever been able to see. It brings new insight into classic linguistic questions like, how do new words catch on? When did people start saying this? Where do people say that?" You'll be fascinated to see how she answers them."
Elle
āSometimes it seems like the internet is a seething brew of ugliness and misery. So it's nice to remember that, as well as the lawless drugery, there are complex human systems that, intentional or not, create something totally new. Internet linguist (damn!) Gretchen McCulloch explores the ever-changing language of online.āĀ
Esquire
āEver wondered how terms like āon brandā make their way into Merriam Webster, or why you prefer ālolā to āLOLā? In prose at once scholarly and user-friendly, McCulloch unpacks the evolution of language in the digital age, providing a comprehensive survey of everything from the secret language of emojis to the appeal of animal memes.ā
Real Simple
āGretchen McCulloch's Because Internet is not your English teacher's grammar guide-not even close. Self-described internet linguist McCulloch traces how the web has changed the way we communicateāwhether through emoji, lowercase letters, or cat memesāand makes a compelling, entertaining argument that this change is good for the English language as a whole.ā
