Fanfic authors be like "Sorry this chapter is a bit messy and rushed ><" and then proceed to completely change me as a person and keep me awake at 3 am with this wonderful writing
reading the invisible life of addie larue and realizing the romantasy genre has actually broken my brain bc like β¦. why am i halfway through this book and still thinking she is gonna eventually fall in love with the literal shadow demon god?? despite the fact that he literally deceived and cursed her ???? and annually torments her ?? wtf is wrong with me
I love that we as a fandom decided that it was utterly ridiculous that Adam fully hated Abel and have reconned that.
In nearly every story I have read since season 2, Adam loves his children but doesnβt always know how to show it, especially Abel. Itβs just so sweet!
I believe Adam and Abel are like opposite sides of the same coin. Abel can embrace the more aggressive and assertive side like his father and Adam can be kind and compassionate as his son.
Just my thoughts on that, but love that I am seeing so much fatherly love between Adam and Abel. π₯°
One thing I like the most about Ring for Jeeves is how the book confirms that they are still together (despite the temporary separation) and their relationship is going strong in the 1950s. The timeline of Jeeves stories is ambiguous but it looks quite clear all but Ring for Jeeves happened before WW2, most agree on the 1920s-1930s. So by the 1950s they'd been together for ~20 years.
I love how P. G. Wodehouse let them be at the end of the series instead of getting someone killed or married as a "traditional ending". Not only did he confirm their permanent bond in Jeeves and the Tie That Binds (which he intended to be the ending but ended up having another book after that), but he also gave us the comfort of knowing even after all the turmoil of the time they are still having a happy life together and probably will keep being this way forever.

I've been thinking (I tend to do that) and I have a question for the fanfic readers on Tumblr
How do you read fanfics?
Complete fics only π€π»
Mostly works in progress (reading updates) π
Mostly complete fics and SOME WIPs π
Doesn't matter to you π€·π»ββοΈ
Don't read fanfics π«

When Fanfiction Becomes A Bestseller!
Learning that the book The Ministry of Time was written because the author had watched The Terror and fell in love with Commander Graham Gore was so wonderful to me.
The book started out as a short fanfiction she wrote during lockdown in the COVID era, because she became obsessed with the character and needed to learn everything about his historical counterpart. The FMC is clearly a reader insert of herself (same family history/same cultural identity) which only enriches the experience of the story.
The fanfic morphed into this amazing novel thatβs now on bookshelves everywhere.
I just found the whole thing tremendously inspiring and wanted to share with the group.
