If you're reading, say, a very indulgent, smutty fic, do you uhh, do you prefer to read it in second person, as if you're actually in the scene? ("He does x to you", "You respond this way", etc) Or do you like third person, like it's happening to someone else? ("He did x to them", "they responded this way") I'm also assuming that second person will be in present tense, and third will be in past tense. (this is for an Ascended Astarion fanfic, in case it helps you decide.)
What POV/Tense do you prefer for your smut?
Second-person present (he does x to you)
Third-person past (he did x to them)
Second-person past (he did x to you)

i don't read smut but i wanted to click the buttons
I tend to go towards “happier” stories or stories where there’s an implicit positive ending, but I do like a good hurt/comfort every so often. There can be something both sweet and intimate about two characters caring for each other!
Hurt NO Comfort: D: Not my favorite.
I’m sure I’ve read this, but I tend to stay away from stories where characters are being harmed just for the sake of it, and while this trope isn’t necessarily just in these types of stories, unless there’s eventually comfort, I don’t tend to gravitate towards this.

Rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic?
-10 -> very dissuaded
0 - don’t care either way
+10 -> very enticed
nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged. Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.
Thanks for the tag @deliciouskeys
Age gap: +1
I legit don’t care. Fiction is fiction. I am a Pro-Ship Fandom Old. I do have some ships with age gaps, including some May-December romances. It depends on the fandom and the characters and where I see a story.
Codependency: +5
I do enjoy it when certain ships are needy bitches with each other and cannot function without the other.
Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: +5
I do love some obsession. Certain ships are primed for it. Jealousy, if it’s done well.
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): +10
A lot of my ships are rain cloud and their little ball of sunshine. I do like an opposite dynamic.
Enemies to lovers, Enemies with benefits: +10
The best of the best. Friction, drama, redemption, there is a lot to unpack in these ships. There is so much passion.
Friends with benefits: 0
Depends on the fandom and ship.
Sex to feelings: +10
I do love me some Porn with Feelings. Again I like the dynamic of two characters just fucking and then accidentally catching feelings along the way.
Fake dating/relationship: +5
Depends on the fandom and ship. These can be really fun if done right.
Friends to lovers: +5
Depends on the fandom and ship. My ultimate friends to lovers is Noctis x Prompto from FFXV, I love them so much.
Found Family: 0
Can be nice to read but doesn’t give me any strong feelings either way.
Hurt/Comfort: +10
Fuck yeah. You know those fics that just hurt so good? They make your stomach tie in knots and your chest cave in and then when the comfort hits, it just hits so damn good every time.
Love Triangle: -5
Not the biggest fan. Especially if part of the love triangle is my NoTP. If it ends with my OTP, then sometimes these can be worth it, but it’s not a trope I look for.
Poly, open relationships: -5
I don’t go looking for them. I do have a couple of OT3 and even OT4 ships, and I’ll read them on occasion but it’s not my main trope by any means. Most of the time I avoid them.
Mistaken/hidden identity: +10
Love it. They can be fun.
Monsterfucking: +10
Yes *nods firmly* Very hot.
Remember when monsterfucking won Guillermo del Toro 4 Academy Awards? Because I sure do :)
Pregnancy: +10
I like it in fiction absolutely. Regular M/F pregnancy, Mpreg, ABO, I enjoy it all.
Second Chance: 0
Depends. If it’s breaking up and making up then I’ll give it a chance and they’re usually really good with including H/C.
If it involves Cheating then Nope -10. Hard Pass. If one half of the OTP cheats on the other, I will not read it.
Slow Burn: +10
Can be so, so good. As long as there is a good pay off at the end then I’m all in.
Soulmates: +4
Depends on fandom and ship. Some fandoms I eat this up all the time and in others, I can pass on it.

Do you guys prefer to read longer fics/series or shorter fics/one shots?
Short fics/One shot fics
Longer fics/Series

Need to know for the future. Personally I don’t like reading super long fics because I think they just get dragged out and my attention span is short. I do like series but I’m afraid to get into a series and then all of a sudden it gets dropped off the face of the earth, never to be heard of again.
BOLD genres your character reads. Italicize genres your character occasionally peruses. Strikethrough if they absolutely won’t touch it.
