#read-a-thon

I want to do a BoM read-a-thon, I'd love to have you join me!

The idea is to make daily scripture reading achievable by making a custom goal. You could set a goal to read a certain number of verses, minutes, chapters, etc. each day (or set a goal to read the whole Book of Mormon!).

We would start the Monday after conference, Oct 7 and finish Dec 31.

ring in the new year with a readathon! dedicating time to reading is my most favoritest way to end one year and begin the next, and so we bingo for a sprinkle of festivity

The first day, and I already got it wrong 😁 I thought the read-a-thon would start tomorrow (Saturday) so I already read a few pages today - and didn’t take note of it. Well, it was only about 50😏

Anyway, here are the books I actually want to read (or read at least some of) for the read-a-thon:

S.A. Chakraborty - The City of Brass (starting from page 48)

S. Holland: Evermore

L. Ingalls-Wilder: Little House in the big woods

M. Lackey: Take a thief

Evermore would also fit the “read a final book in a series (duology)” prompt and Take a Thief (okay, nearly all of them) fit the “read a book you have been putting off for more than a year”.

Started the read-a-thon today! I've got 82 pages so far, not much yet, but I wanted to make sure I got a post up before I forgot.

For anyone interested, its a challenge to read 1k pages from Dec 25 - Dec 31.

I have decided to take part in @books-and-cookies July re-read-a-thon! I’m currently in the middle of re-reading a series, so it’s perfect.

Throughout July I plan to re-read:

Cress by Marissa Meyer. The third book in The Lunar Chronicles (I’ve just re-read the first and am about to finish the second) following a band of renegades trying to bring down an oppresive regime. Feauturing adapatations of fairytales, such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Snow White.

Winter by Marissa Meyer. The fourth installment of The Lunar Chronicles. This is the endgame.

North Child by Edith Pattou (I believe this is known as East outside of the UK). Based off a Norweigen folktale, this was one of my favourite books as a child and I’ve probably read it upwards of 5 times, however, it’s been at least 8 years since my last re-read and I’ve forgotten most of the storyline.

And, if I have time I would like to re-read The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins. I read these back in 2012 and haven’t re-read them since. I figure it’s about time.
