200 Random Dialogue Prompts II Accepting
"I already told you," Eli responded after quickly composing himself, shoulders drawn back as he straightened his posture. A brief flash of panic crossed over his features, but it soon disappeared into the usual stoicism he carried. Shit. He did not expect to turn around and find himself face-to-face with another soul, especially when he was almost finished. All the information he was sent to collect had been retrieved, and now it was a simple matter of leaving unnoticed. It was easy enough making his way inside, having integrated himself into the hustle and bustle of staff preparing for tonight's party; they were too distracted to notice. And that lack of concentration allowed a handful of P.A.S.E members to spread out and search the building, gathering any evidence that Erasures were going to be present at this party. They received a tip-off from a recent admittance to their safe house; a gentleman heavily under the influence, but coherent enough to give them a location of his regular supplier. Whether he was speaking the truth was up for debate, but it was why they were here -- to debunk or support his rambling words.
"I came here to drop off crates of champagne," he explained once more, his attention never straying from the blond male. He wondered whether his fellow activists had already left, knowing that time was short. Eli always reiterated to never come find him should he go missing during a raid; the less people that got involved, the easier it was to undo any mess he may have found himself in. This was certainly one of them. "However," a light chuckle followed the single word, expression softening into amusement. "A tad embarrassing, but I managed to get myself lost in these vast hallways. Would you very kindly direct me to the front door?" He knew exactly where he was and where to go. But pretending to be idle-minded lifted some of the suspicion off him. It was his job to make note of every possible escape route should their plan to gate-crash the party tonight become wildly unpredictable. Criminals often took offense to those disrupting their business. Eli had been there, done that, and stared down the barrel of a gun far too many times.
'Why are you really here?'
No budging then. Eli released a small sigh, hoping that this evening was going to run smoothly. He wanted to give Elsner the information and go home, where a lovely bottle of whisky was waiting for him. "It depends," he answered, pausing to study the other male. Friend or foe -- no idea. "Do you know about any Erasures being sold here?" There was no use in curving the subject now. His reaction would let Eli know whether to press further...or run.
