Oh man I was just pondering this for #60! I have 58 posted and I feel like #60 should be something meaningful.

First of all - congratulations on almost reaching 60 works! 

What’s your total word count on AO3?

Wow. Wow. 207,398. When did that happen?

How often do you write?

. . . it depends. During the semester? Not enough, because of grad school workload. During the summer - eyyyyy, this will be my first “lighter” summer in a while, so I’m excited to see!  

Do you have a routine for writing?

. . . forcing myself to sit down and log off tumblr really helps, but I don’t usually have much of a routine beyond the sitting down part. That being said! There are days when I can tell I’ll get a lot of writing done if I can make it to the sitting down part, and days where n o t h i n g happens no matter what I do.

What are your favorite kinks/tropes/pairings?

Oh gods. Hmmm. “all of them” isn’t quite accurate but it is pretty damn close, so - “almost all of them”? With particular favs being: 

Kinks: communication in relationships, dear god. . . and lord/vassal dynamics is good, and beyond that i’ll read almost anything once

Tropes: enemies to friends to lovers, friends to lovers, fake/pretend relationship, pining 

Pairings: Findrahil, Silvergifting, Angbang, Russingon, Beleg/Turin, Glorfindel/Erestor, Gil-Galad/Elrond/Celebrian, Tuor/Idril/Voronwe, Finrod/Beor, Legolas/Gimli, Crowley/Aziraphale, Arthur/Eames, Matt/Foggy, Charles/Erik, and I’m sure I’ll remember more as soon as I post this. . . 

Do you have a favorite fic of yours?

Ermehgerd. . . I’m still really proud of “Of the King of the Alders.” Umm, and, it indirectly led to amazing things IRL too so it will probably always be my favorite now. Otherwise, “Istan Quete” helped me get through a really tough time, and when I get back to it, I have also enjoyed writing “save all his ashes for me.”

Anything you don’t like about your writing?

Most if not all of my fics tend to be characterized by POV, and sometimes I think that the writing gets too internalized. On that note, I’m not sure I’ve ever written a completely third-person-omniscient fic. 

Now something you do like?

. . . umm, I guess I like how I’m able to show that there are details to the story or the world that the POV character doesn’t realize the full importance of.

1. What is one thing you’d like people to know about you? Unfortunately, I feel like my compulsive and capslocking tags tell y’all everything you really need to know about me. . . 

2. What keeps you most busy outside of fandom? Grad school, with freelancing a close second

3. Where in Middle-Earth, at any age, would you most want to live? urgle. . . Dol Amroth in the Third Age? Eregion in the Second? Nargothrond in the First? The only problem is that I know what happens there. . . 

4. Do you know your MBTI type? What is it? I actually had to take the MBTI test several times for one of my first jobs! a bit silly but it was like more of a conversation starter for working with students I was INFJ then, and the “I” only increased the longer I worked with people, hilariously. Maybe I should take it again, just for laughs. . . 

5. What is your college degree? English Lit!

8. Who are you most like among Tolkien’s characters? Nngh. My critical training is demanding that I acknowledge my own bias here, so lemme twist this a bit: I project most strongly onto Mairon, Maedhros, and Celebrimbor. Make of that what you will. . .

11. Where is your dream vacation? one of my younger siblings is going to NZ in a few weeks and I AM SO JEALOUS and that is all I’m going to be thinking about in terms of travel for a solid six months as i sit here sobbing

Definite plans: 1) BALANCE FIC WRITING AND WORK WRITING. There’s going to be a lot of work stuff coming up this year, and I don’t want the fun stuff to fall by the wayside as it has in the past. 2) Participate in the 2018 Tolkien gift exchanges. Already signed up for Slashy Valentine, and ooooh it’s not a pairing I’ve written before, so this is exciiiiiiting. . . 3) Get some kind of coherent plan together for the AU series “half-healed gashes,” which I’m realizing could cover a loooot of ground if I let it. Right now I’m still working on the first piece, “save all his ashes for me,” a Last Alliance AU. 

Tentative plans: A Curufin-and-Celegorm meet Beren-and-Luthien earlier fic that’s been knocking around my head for a while. A Celebrimbor-in-Valinor AU.

Other plans: ???? No, wait, I know - read more from other Silm authors. Y’all are amazing, and sometimes I feel like I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve. And also, maybe branch out into writing for other fandoms again?  hah let’s keep this realistic please
