Ferrets have a poor health history and I wanted to help prolong their health by diet. I found Holistic Ferret Forum and did some research and transitioned them to a raw diet. Our raw food provider messed up on our order multiple times so we had to try new foods. They turned their nose up to each one. We were hesitant to try Hare Today because of our track record with new foods but the food quality does not compare. The shipping is expensive but not hand feeding them is worth it. Thank you Hare-Today!

I highly recommend this company if your ferret is a picky eater and eating raw. My ferret still won’t eat whole prey but I got them to try duck and they love it.

They also cater to dogs and cats. I love that they have different proteins that i couldn’t get in stores and they grind the bones so no more scary vet visits because the Lucy eats way to fast.

Kinga (5yo) got a bad reaction from her yearly vaccines (cough), that were done incorrectly and probably shouldn’t have been done anyway (I’ve been informed).

meanwhile, I’m going to work on switching over to a new vet clinic, etc. but I also need to check Kinga’s BG, because I’ve never seen her this lethargic & she drops into DFS (dead ferret sleep) way more often than ever before. It’s also likely if I give her another vaccine in her lifetime she won’t make it. :(

I’m doing the “starve ‘em” method (IT’S SO DIFFICULT)--basically just for Misio, bc I think Kinga may have low blood sugar--where you just wait till they crack and eat the new protein--because they’re just so stubborn--but I’ve mixed their fav protein (chicken) with the new one (rabbit), so maybe they can get a taste for rabbit ... right?
