Thanks for the tag @wanderingcas! I love LOVE writing/fic tag games, but man...this year was a year of wrangling babies so there was exceedingly little writing/art happening and even less getting finished. Nevertheless...

Completed? One Mary/Rowena fic for @hoziernaturalevents

But I DID manage to complete some art and work on a few other fics as well as some original stuff <3

20,734 words, which is honestly more than I thought I had lol.

did you try anything new this year? (new fandom? new pairing? new language?)

Yes! I wrote Mary/Rowena (I've had some wips going for them for a while but this is the first I've managed to complete/post) and did art for @butterflyslinky's wonderful Mary/Karen Singer fic!

did you participate in any fests/events during the year?

The Hoziernatural Multi-Ship Bang babyyyy! That's the only one I managed to write for this year, but I also did some art for @deancasanime-events, @spn-anime-challenge, and @suptober <3

which is the funniest fic you have written this year?

Someday I will post the full version of my Song of Songs-inspired "Cas tries to hit on Dean using archaic flattery and euphemisms" fic that I've been working on, and then you'll all see...

which is the angriest fic you have written this year?

Hmmm...I definitely worked on some angsty stuff but nothing I'd say is particularly angry

which is the steamiest fic you have written this year?

Probably has to be the Mary/Rowena one somewhat by default (it is in the Mature rating and does have some sex scenes though none of them get explicit)

what is your most valuable writing lesson learned this year?

I work best from a beat sheet rather than a full outline.

I can't write for shit in the late evening/early night (which sucks balls cause that's the time available to me right now). I am SO much better in the morning or like 2 a.m.

Sometimes you're just already drained, and it's okay to be gentle with yourself and not force it.

what do you look forward to writing next year?

I am determined to get back into and finish my From Perdition series.

Okay so that's actually a children's book series that I'm writing/illustrating for my 5yo nephew.

There are a few short little plots for the books but, in the beginning, they met when a fairy gets caught in a jar. A stray kitten, being a kitten, knocks the jar off from where it's sitting and frees the fairy (which is really why cats are always knocking things off of ledges, poor fairies get stuck all the time when silly humans who can't see them set things on top of them).

They quickly befriend each other and have various adventures.

Chapter Preview:

This time, as Dean pressed back into Cas’s mind, he felt Cas recoil. Dean pressed harder. “None of that. I’m not leaving here without you. Come on back to me so I can grip you tight and raise you from Perdition. It’s my damn turn.”

23. What’s a trope, AU, or concept you’ve never written, but would like to?

Oh no there are so many... Most of them at least have outlines and a few scenes though; but one idea that's been rolling around in my head (and only in my head) since years ago when my brother asked, "So, when you finish writing about Dean's time in Hell, are you gonna write about Sam in the cage?" is a Cage fic showcasing and comparing/contrasting Lucifer and Sam's torture and Sam's eventual rescue vs Michael and Adam's slow learning and acceptance of each other and Adam's being left behind/forgotten. And, yeah, someday after I finish up the other parts of the From Perdition series that I already have going, I'll write that.

[looks at wip folder and counts 40 wips...] Okay so the ones I'm currently most actively working on are...

If Solomon Could Say It - a destiel crack fic based off of this post where Cas tries his best to hit on Dean but is using archaic, Old Testament-style flattery/language so it all goes straight over Dean's head and in fact he thinks Cas is making fun of him most the time (featuring lots of friends hanging around to make fun and cheer Cas on, popcorn in hand)

Both Hands on the Wheel - a Bobby/Cas fic of them being genius, plolyglot, grumpy old men together, 'cause my dudes deserve language rights and someone who can actually fully appreciate all aspects of them. (See my Bobby/Cas thesis here, lol)

She Keeps Me Warm - a pre-canon Anna/Ruby fic where Anna's still an angel and Ruby is still human and a witch that spans centuries of them meeting and falling for each other and being married and eventually shows how they ended up as we meet them in canon (fallen and a demon).

Gripped Tight - a canon divergent (from 14x08 - Cas's deal with the empty) destiel Empty rescue fic. It's post-canon, but started writing it the night that episode aired, so it's not post-canon as it actually played out from there.
