Part 2 of 2 - Perun's first Barn Hunt practice. This was actually Perun's second time in the ring. We went straight from the caged rat to this. You can see his confusion after he finds the rat - he found it quickly, but abandoned it and had to be drawn back to engage. He knew what it was, but the tube confused him since it wasn't moving and he didn't know what to do about it. But after being encouraged to engage, he turned on well. Part 1 of 2 - Perun at his first Barn Hunt practice. This was before our second run; Perun didn't really trigger on the rat tubes when he was first introducedto them. He gave them really good sniffs, but couldn't see the rats so he seemed confused. So before our second run, I showed him the rat in the cage - he'd only ever seen mice before and rats don't smell the same. Giving him a chance to see the rodent let him make the connection and turn on the prey drive - this was the second look at the cage and we went straight into the Barn Hunt ring from here.
