"Expect"
Written for @drarrymicrofic weekly prompt "Expect" | 265 words | Summer bingo squares: dialogue-only, mpreg, omegaverse, Azkaban, pureblood culture, rated G
"I don't know what more you want from me, mother." "To do your duty, as all Pureblood heirs must." "And haven't I done just that? Landed the perfect Alpha and gotten him to impregnate me—" "If you think the Potter boy—" "Lucius, please. Let me handle this. Draco, your father and I are grateful. Your union with Harry Potter will do wonders for regaining our rightful place in society, regardless of our personal opinions on his suitability as your mate." "And I suppose it doesn't even matter to you that he makes me happy?" "Happiness is a luxury not every Omega can expect. That you've found it despite the odds, well, as your mother of course that matters." "How could he possibly make you happy? That half-blood knows nothing of our ways." "Unbelievable! You'd both still be in Azkaban if it weren't for Harry. As you both enjoy your own luxuries, I hope you remember it's his mercy that allows you to have even a semblance of the life you think you're owed." "Draco, darling—" "I can't stay and listen to him, mother. I won't. I'm leaving." "Back to that muggle flat, no fit place for my son—" "Lucius, stop it, please. Draco, don't go. Bopsi has made a splendid lunch, and I wanted to show you the orchids that bloomed this morning." "I can't. If you want to be a part of your grandchild's life, I suggest you find a way to let go of this outdated bigotry. We're not raising him like this. When you're ready to change, you know where to find me."
Thanks for the speedy, encouraging alpha @smugrobotics
The Suggestion Box
by Werpiper
Rated G, 587 words
Status: Complete Work
Summary:
Turns out God has a Suggestion Box. It's on the moon.
Why we love it:
I barked. I actually CACKLED. It's 587 words of making you snort (and then stabbing your heart out of nowhere). Breaking the fourth wall brilliantly. I loved it, it's a quick read and it's gonna stick with you for much longer than it took you to read and leave a comment on it.

Kingdon Microfic Month
Day 18: Parade
@kingdonmicrofic
If there’s an opportunity for Frank to spend uninterrupted time with Mel, he will always take it. So when he sees her name on the volunteer list to aid the EMS at the annual Anthrocon Parade, he immediately signs up.
How bad could it be? All they’ll have to do is stand by the ambulance and make sure no one in one of those crazy mascot costumes passes out from heat stroke.
“Should we wear animal ears in solidarity?” Frank asks her with a smirk and eyebrow waggle when he informs her he’ll be her volunteer buddy.
Mel blushes and giggles along with him.
“I was actually thinking about wearing this pair of bunny ears Becca got at the Renaissance Faire the last time we went. There was this booth selling all kinds of ears and horns, and she collects—“
Frank knows Mel is rattling a story off about how her sister acquired the ears, but he can only hear static. All his brain can process is the image of Mel, looking cute as ever, wearing a pair of fluffy bunny ears.
“Are you okay, Frank?” Mel asks, narrowing her eyes and waving a hand in front of his face.
Frank blinks and shivers, shaking himself out of his daydream of bunny girl Mel.
“Uh, yeah, I’m all ears—I mean, good! I’m all good!” He stumbles on his words in a way that makes Mel giggle again.
“I see, you don’t want to be left out. Don’t worry, I’ll see if Becca will let you borrow a pair.”
So true to her word, two weeks later, they survey the parade from the sidelines. Ready to leap into action in case of an emergency, clad in grey bunny ears for Mel and fox ears for Frank.

A Vetinari x Drumknott ficlet I wrote instead of sleeping
Fandom: Discworld
Word count: 343
Rating: G
Rufus stared at the boney back Infront if him. It was very rare that Havelock would fall asleep before him — eyes the colour of silver looking at him with a softness that could really be allowed only there and then were usually what Rufus saw last before drifting away, — but there it was.
He was the only person who saw him like that, he thought. He was the only person who saw his bare spine, moving slowly with his even inhales and exhales.
Unprotected.
Vulnerable.
Trusting.
Rufus grew up in a middle class household, went to study clergy, and eventually got a position in the Palace. To become the acting Patrician's private secretary was never a part of any scheme of his; it wasn't a path to power for him either. He was promoted because he was competent at his job and Lord Vetinari thought him worthy.
Until less than a decade ago he would've never thought he would be a pricey target for assassination.
Havelock grew up in Pseudopolis. He's had lordship pinned on him since the day he was born. He's had an eye or an aim on him at all times.
He must've had so few people he could trust.
Rufus's heart inconveniently hurt. He should've thought himself special, but he held this horrible sadness for the man so dear to him.
He sighed. The thoughts that he would've never allowed in the daytime — for the only use of them was for his body to feel like it's being eaten from inside out by his affection — were now clutching at his throat because he was too tired to fight back.
He held Havelock in his arms. He pressed a kiss to the place where his back became his neck, praying that it wouldn't wake him up. For once in his life the gods heard his prayers. There were 6 meetings scheduled for the next day and his Patrician needed a rest.
With disorganised thoughts lazily swimming around in his head and his forehead softly touching Havelock's shoulder blade he finally fell asleep.
